I think it’s really frustrating being short. No one ever cries for equality for short people. There are plus size models, and super skinny models, but no short models. Unless you count petite clothes, which I don’t because not only are they typically modeled by a tall woman wearing the “regular” size item of the same clothes, they are typically very unattractive.
Seriously, it’s horrible the selection for short people! I understand that I am very short (5’ 2”) but I honestly know more women who are my size or around there than women who supposedly fit the “regular” jeans at the store. I would like for every store to carry at least SOME short lenght jeans. WTF? And don’t get me started on dresses and skirts. It looks so cute on the hanger, I purchase it, get it home, and BAM! Super awkward length that is neither knee length nor mini skirt, making my choices either floor length and puritanical (which usually goes past my feet, anyway) or super short and revealing (which I’m not always comfortable with)
So, if I look awkward and like shit, it’s not because i have no fashion sense. It’s because it has become increasingly more impossible to find things made for short women that aren’t a size 0 or 2. Sorry, short doesn’t always mean skinny. I’m not fat, but jeebus, I’m bigger than a 2! It’s really lame. Can we please embrace short people with thighs that are more than sticks? Because I would love that. I would love to find clothes for short ladies, of average girth, with large muscular thighs. That would be a dream come true. I am short, have big thighs and usually wear a size 4 or a 6. If someone could recommend a good place to find items (and not just pants, but dresses and skirts) made for short people, I would forever be indebtted to them.
